Caravans and Motorhomes Policy
Registration and Permits:
All caravans, motor homes and camper vans must be pre-registered via the Booking System, prior to arrival, to be able to attend the Event. We may need to restrict the number of caravans, motor homes and camper vans due to available space. Bookings will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Designated Areas and Pitches
Caravans, motor homes and camper vans are only permitted in areas designated by the Organisers. These areas will be located to ensure minimal disruption to the main staff subcamp and activity areas. Caravans, motor homes and camper vans are not allowed on participant camping areas.
It must be noted that it may not be possible for caravans, motor homes or camper vans to be sited next to friends camping in tents. Caravans, motor homes and camper vans will be assigned a pitch at random, and this must be adhered to. It is required that caravans, motor homes and camper vans park within their defined pitch.
Safety Regulations
All caravans, motor homes and camper vans must comply with UK safety regulations, including fire safety standards. Each vehicle must be equipped with a fire extinguisher and a smoke detector.
Caravans, motor homes and camper vans must be secured to prevent movement once on the designated pitch through a combination of using chocks, leaving the vehicle in gear and with the handbrake on.
Electrical Hook-Ups
There will be no electrical hook-ups will be available.
Waste Disposal
Grey water waste disposal must be in designated areas only. The chemical toilet waste disposal point is a significant distance away from the staff camping area. It will not be possible to drive to this location. Littering is strictly prohibited.
Gas Bottles
These must be positioned in a safe and secure manner.
Noise Control
To ensure a peaceful environment, noise levels must be kept to a minimum, especially during quiet hours.. The use of generators is not permitted.
Vehicle Movement
Movement of caravans, motor homes and camper vans during the Event are restricted. Vehicles must remain stationary for the duration of the event unless permission is expressly given by the Camp Leads.. If permission is granted to move this will be with a provided escort whilst mobile through the site. Speed limits must be adhered to.
Towing Vehicles
All towing vehicles must be parked in the appropriate car park and not with the caravan within the designated pitch.
Awnings
Due to space limitations, it may not be possible for awnings to be used. If permitted, any awnings must be appropriately secured and within the
designated pitch. Please be aware that the site can get quite windy so suitable securing methods will be needed.
Insurance and Liability
All caravan, motor home and camper van owners must have valid insurance. Neither Unity or its Organisers are liable for any damage, theft, or accidents involving such vehicles.
Respect and Consideration
All Attendees must respect their neighbours and the communal nature of the Event. This includes maintaining a tidy area around their caravan, motorhome or camper van and being considerate of others.
Emergency Procedures
In case of an emergency, Attendees must follow the instructions of the Event Staff and appropriate Emergency Services. Emergency access routes must always be kept clear.
Action for non-compliance with Policy
Failure to comply with this policy will be dealt with by the Camp Leads. Severe or consistent breaches of this policy could result in your removal from the Event. All incidents will be handled in accordance with the Safety and Safeguarding Policies of Girlguiding.
